Celebrate Good Times
Today is Native American Genocide Day, also known as Columbus Day. It's pretty much just one more day set aside for white people. In all seriousness though, it didn't have to happen that way.

I'll be honest, Kelly, I am very glad I don't have this particular day off. And neither did the school I had to do sessions in! Thank god they don't see this day as a holiday, because I know I sure as hell don't!!!!
I worked too. It isn't a holiday as far as I'm concerned. When I was an undergraduate, I took a class called Columbus and the New World. It was 1992 and it was the 500th anniversary of Columbus landing in the Americas.
To her credit, the professor did not tell the story that we are told in grade school. No, she told us the truth, that he was a pretty disgusting person who viewed the Native Americans as nothing more than savages, not even Noble Savages.
We detailed the horrible injustices that were done by those in the west and I'm glad that she said all of these things as everyone needed to hear these things.
