Today is one of the most sacred days of the year, Opening Day for baseball. As a child, my hero's were more likely than not, baseball players. I can see them all now, George Foster, Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Dave Concepcion....members of the Big Red Machine, the most dominant team in the history of the game. I fell asleep listening to the radio broadcasts of the Cincinnati Reds, the lyrical voices of Marty and Joe. In just a few short minutes, as it is always done, my Reds will open the Major League Baseball Season and for one short day, hope springs eternal.
