DeFriended

Wow, Defriended on Facebook by my two best friends from high school. The shitty thing is, I didn't defriend them when they became raving mad conservatives. Seriously though, it does kind of hurt my feelings that my two best friends from that time, people that I would have thought would stand by me, ultimately decided that I was too much of a freak or something like that. Stay classy Rico and Kristen.

It's happened to me also. But in real life, rather than Facebook.

i had a problem with imaginary friends growing up. They were real people, they just weren't my friends.

Fuck em'. That's my advice.

I agree, girlfriend. Missi and I will always be there for you as much as we can. She's right: FUCK' EM!

Incidently, I've had that happen without any of the 'freak' labels, so to speak. It was a former best friend who allowed her UGLY ASS CONTROLLING HUSBAND choose her friends. This asshole is 16 years older than we are. She's on Facebook, but how strange is it that she doesn't list herself as married? She doesn't put a relationship status in at all, nothing. Yea, that's pretty much how she's treated. I have no sympathy for her.

Don't feel bad about your former friends. They are in your past for a reason.

I was told once by someone I thought a complete cynic that when I reached my dotage, if I could count my true friends on the fingers of one hand I'd have lived a good life.

Now, almost 30 years later and almost the same age as he was then I've come to realize that not only was he right, but I'm still trying to gain that first "handfull"!

This is their loss, not yours, though I know it's hard to see it that way!

Yeah, Fuck 'em. I've had a number of defriendings over the past year. And if it's on account of my language I've sometimes used, and they need to "protect" their friends and family from seeing it, whatever.

But in most cases, I've noticed the people who disappear are usually hardcore Christians... one of whom I've known since I was a child, even though we rarely had contact on Facebook. I guess he just couldn't handle my politics or whatever. Whatever.

Fuck 'em. At this point, sadly enough, I've just got no time or inclination to care. It's THEIR problem, not mine.
