For those keeping score, that's zero yes votes from Republicans in the House. Think about that for a moment. ZERO votes. The country is facing the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and not one Republican representative voted for the stimulus bill. They are simply insane and are willing to see this country burn in order to deny Obama any credit. So, I hope that Obama and Company can once and for all put this whole nonsense about bipartisanship behind them. Americans elected Obama and gave Democrats huge advantages in both houses of Congress for a reason and it wasn't to work with Republicans.

The level of partisanship is as bad now as it's ever been. The GOP has concluded that they have nothing to lose by opposing the Prez, and nothing to gain politically from helping him, so this is what we get. I hate to be negative, but it's gonna be a long four years.
I think it's going to be a long rest of time I'm afraid. This stimulus plan, while admirable, is a perfect example of the powers that be trying to keep the system going. That it's not going to happen hasn't occurred to most people. The 20th century was an abberation, something that had never happened before and will never happen again. Infinite growth isn't possible in a finite world.
It's starting to grate on my last nerve that Obama keeps using the word bipartisanship. Forget about it. He needs to do what he feels is best, convince the public, and get on with it.
Although I'm in the camp that isn't convinced this stimulus package is great. I mean, sales tax credit for buying a car up to $49k? If someone is buying a car in the $35k-$49k range in this economy, they sure as shit don't need any stimulus.
