Number One

As my transition continues and now moves into the final stage, I've started to reflect on things that I'll miss about being a guy. I don't really want to get into all of that right now, there is time for that later, but I'm pretty confident that once all is said and done, what I'll miss the most is peeing standing up. It's one of those fundamental differences between men and women and it's one that men have the advantage in. It's especially useful when using a public restroom, or God forbid, a port o potty, but it's also just easier. Now nothing is stopping me from still doing it the old fashioned way, I still do at home from time to time, but it's a pretty dead giveaway in the ladies room. I'll have to come up with a list in the next few days, one focusing on what I already miss and one focusing on what I might miss once the transition is complete. I do want to reiterate however that I will not miss said penis.

Is this a spammer or what???

Kelly, I think your journey is going to be a good one in the end. Just think of what you'll be able to contribute to others who are transitioning.

Oh, and I just love it when I hear people talk about how men get the surgery to become women. As if the penis is literally "cut off" and tossed in a jar somewhere. No fuckwads. It's repositioned into the body to form a vagina.

I've seen the first comment on this thread posted on several blogs that I read so yep, it's spamola. I can't figure out if there is a way to remove comments. As for the penis, yeah, I don't know why people think that. I suppose it has to do with the fact that most men can't imagine something happening to their pride and joy. There were times as a kid when I did want to cut it off though, it made me that angry.

Still having it creates a major disconnect between who I feel I am and who I appear to be. Though no one else sees it, I know it's there and that bothers me. I never was that attached to the damn thing, though it's secondary function, sex, did make it useful from time to time.

Kelly:

About the comments, there should be a delete feature on them. I think it's the icon of a trash can.

All that matters in this life IS how YOU feel about it. I've said this to you before and I'll say it a million more times: YOUR happiness means the most. To hell with what everyone else or society thinks. I stopped caring about that a LONG time ago. Your worth and self-esteem are two of the most priceless things on this planet, amongst so many other things. Life is too damn short to worry about all those little trifling other things we tend to worry about.

It's time to live your life the way it was meant for YOU to live it. Missi and I believe in you!

standing up to pee, especially in public restrooms is the only thing i miss since my surgery. not enough to regret it, mind you, but i still think about it.

Thanks Jacq for the kind words. Maybe this summer we can all get together. Pennsylvania isn't that far away though driving through Ohio is pretty damn boring. I'm actually about the happiest I've ever been, things have been going really great these past few weeks and I haven't looked back. For the first time during this transition, I'm truly all-in.

Nexy,
Totally agreed about the public restroomt thing. Some of them are pretty disgusting and I've noticed that some of the ladies rooms are much nastier than anything I've ever seen in the mens room. Still, it's a small price to pay to have the right plumbing.

I used to pee sitting down occasionally. Standing up is convenient but sitting down results in less splatter so aesthetically I prefer it, especially if I'm in a classy joint. Or a busy public toilet. Or when I've just cleaned my own toilets.
